You see, almost 3 years ago, I was financially broke. I remember going to work with only transportation money because all of my income was spent paying credit card bills and other utilities. I didn’t earn enough money because I thought that my capacity to earn is only at a low income level. Most people would say that I had a poor mindset , and yes I completely agree.

I never tithed, because I think how can I even tithe if the income I earn is not even enough for me.
I never treated my friends and relatives because I can’t. I can’t even treat them to a simple restaurant meal without using my credit card.
I never understood how money works and never got interested in learning how it works.

You might say that I might NOT have a good education that is why I can’t find a good job. But I had two college degrees and some masteral units. I spent almost 8 years of my life getting good education, but it was not sufficient because schools don’t teach financial literacy.

After listening to a preacher’s message about financial literacy, I attended a seminar on Learning Ways how to build passive income streams. I met people who earned different types of passive income streams. I realized these people earned from businesses, real estate investments and investing in mutual stocks.

But one type of passive income stream caught my attention: Internet Marketing

The possibility of earning from the internet intrigued me. First because of the possibility of working anywhere and anytime. My wife was working graveyard shifts and during those times, I realize I could work on my online businesses.

I also saw the potential of it being able to provide a decent amount of income for my family that could potentially earn more than my day job.

But Internet Marketing was hard to learn.

No one mentored me. There are lots of courses out there but I quickly found out that there is a lot of BS out there. I didn’t have money to get started, so I started with a Free hosted website called blogger.com.I kept creating quality content and promoted my website through some marketing efforts that I’ve learned from reading and researching. I started to monetize my website by adding ads on my site and I joined a program called Google Adsense™.

One day I found out that I have earned a few cents, then $1 per day, then $2 per day, and it kept on growing.

I tried to “reverse engineer” what I have done and re-invested what I have earned and bought my own domain and hosting. I created more websites that earned from Google Adsense™ . I constantly tweaked and optimized my websites and I have also ventured in other ways to earn online like creating my own products and doing affiliate marketing.

Let me share with you some of these income streams:

Never in my life did I thought that Internet marketing could earn me $400+ in one day! (of course it’s not typical, but it’s possible)

And with Google adsense™, I never even sold anything on my website, I just built my website, drive traffic to that website, and had added Google Adsense™ codes on my site. When someone clicks on the ads that are found on my site I then earn from it. It’s that simple.

Well, it’s not exactly that simple…

…but the entire process is based on this formula = Build a Website -> Drive Traffic to that Site -> Monetize that website.

It became a passive income stream for me because all I have to do is get my sites ranked on top of the search engines(traffic) and because of that I continuously earn.
